Caspyn's Oreg Colour Changing Gin 70cl (40%)

Bottling Notes

Made by the distiller from Pocketful of Stones and inspired by his upbringing in Hungary and travels around the world that has led him to Penzance in Cornwall. The 1st thing that strikes you about this gin is the beautiful electric blue that practically sings from the glass. The aromas are heady with floral spice and an unmistakable juniper undertone. The taste has a good layer of juniper backed up by pine and lavender. Balanced with a good amount of citrus the finish is long with a reassuringly oily mouth feel. A great addition to the Cornish Gin range.

Tasting Notes

The complex taste of Öreg was inspired by the cycle of the seasons; elderflower and lavender evokes the scorching summers while pine and orange bring to mind the frosty winters. Orris root, pepper and sea-buckthorn keep the extremity of the drink in balance while the citrus flavours freshens it up. The change of the seasons is also shown in the special colour of the gin owing to the flower of Thai butterfly pea
